Welcome to Convivium Singers

The group has annual engagements in festivals across the UK, with celebrities and well-known musicians including Alan Titchmarsh (Broadcaster,), David Price (Master of Choristers, Portsmouth Cathedral), and Rev. A brief response...

I would like to place on record a general vote of thanks for all your hard work to organise the annual MSJA with BSA & JSA carol service at St James's Piccadilly. The service was a resounding success and it would hard to find praise enough for the choir - they gave a spectacular performance. Great wine afterwards as well!

Convivium Singers involved with Portsmouth Cathedral's Chorister Outreach Programme...

'In the Bleak Midwinter...'
Saturday 12 December

Convivium Singers travelled to Gosport to work alongside Lee-on-the-Solent Junior School Choir under the direction of Alex Norman and Adrian Green. The resulting carol concert was hosted at St Faith’s Church, Lee on Solent.

Aside from traditional carols, the evening’s programme consisted of music from around the world and held a particular emphasis on music from the 20th Century. The title work, ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’, was a new commission by Adrian Green, accompanied by the Director of Music from Portsmouth Cathedral, David Price.

'The Lost Chord'...
now available on iTunes!

Over the past 10 months, members of Convivium Singers have travelled to three seperate evening recording sessions at Portsmouth Cathedral. The resulting demo disc provides a little bit of everything, reflecting the diversity of music handled by the choir. Highlights will include William Byrd's 'Laudibus', as well as sacred and secular music. Details and a playlist can be found in Recordings.

Recording of secular music by Jonathan Dove with Neil Ferris set for July 2010.

July 2010 will be particularly busy for Convivium Singers, with a recording of secular works by Jonathan Dove, under the direction of Neil Ferris. Many of the works to be included will not have been recorded and released before, including Dove's secular cantata, 'The Passing of the Year'. It is anticipated that this disc will be released on a major record label and further details will be available shortly.
